TRAIN4SUSTAIN: Establishing future-oriented training and qualification quality standards for fostering a broad uptake of sustainable energy skills in the European construction sector

:: Previous Initiative

General Description
The construction sector is one of the main drivers of the European economy. As sustainable buildings are on the rise, also sustainable energy professionals are more and more requested across Europe. Availability and demand for skilled energy experts do not currently go hand in hand. In Europe, we seem to have different perceptions of the skills needed to perform such a profession, without taking into account the different legislations and language barriers. Our solution is to make comparable and unify the current qualifications in sustainable energy across Europe. Doing so will help converge contents, curricula and training to be “state of the art”. This implies that energy professionals’ qualifications will be valid across borders, making it easier for them to find a job abroad. To make this possible we are developing a European Skills Registry, a Skills Passport, an e-Inventory and a Match-Making hub.
